The AWANA Grand Prix is an annual event at Capital Baptist Church. It is open to all ages.  Each Grand Prix contestant enters a hand carved and designed car made from an AWANA wood block model kit. Kits will be available in January for a nominal price. A special “build day” will be held on 8 February to provide tools and hands for clubbers who need help in the construction of their cars before the event. On Race Day, there will be three divisions: Sparks, T&T and Unlimited.

For Sparks and T&T there will be a first, second, and third place Design Award and a first, second, and third place Speed Award. The “unlimited” division is for teens, parents and little ones (knowing older ones helped them); based on entrants, appropriate awards will be given. This event also provides an opportunity for your family to attend and invite others to cheer on your clubbers and hear the Gospel.

Parents are allowed to help their clubber in the construction of their vehicle, but must not do most of the work for the clubber; this will weigh negatively in the judging of the design.
